Make me Over

Fall makeup is out and about and we are loving this flapper-esque Gothic revival going on. This Louis Vitton Runway shot that was featured in the March issue of Launchpad magazine is spot on amazing.

Get the Look with Aveda:

Start with Aveda Sheer Moisture tint and dust the Loose Translucent powder all over for a clean slate.

Dust a little extra loose powder under the eyes to wipe away after setting the eye shadow.

Using the Copper Haze Shadow Trio brush the copper shade all over the lid to the crease and towards the brow. Use a precision brush to bring the shadow to the lower lid and smudge with the Plum Mist Shadow Trio in the dark burgundy color. Smudge the darkest color over the copper color all over and apply a little extra in the crease. Line with the Black Orchid Liner and finish off with the Black Forest Mascara.

For the lips start with the Translucent Lip Liner. Apply a light coat of the Hot Pepper Lip color over a light application of the Poppy Lip color and top it off with the Cherry Blossom Lip Glaze. Depending on if you want a brighter/darker lip you can skip one of the Lip Colors.

Finish it off with a high five and a cocktail because you look AWESOME!

Bobs for Fall

The bob is everywhere for fall, that is no secret. When going through a dramatic hair change you can find yourself wondering what to do next. What do I do with this new do? Fear not fabulous hair friend! Mary and I sat down and waded through some images of fab bobs to get you the answers.

1. Alexa Chung

Her hair kick started the bob trend AND  the ombre hair color that everyone is craving. To obtain this style use Aveda Be Curly Style Prep on damp hair. Finish with Aveda Control Paste on ends with dry for that awesome tousled-bed-head-amazingness. 

2. Keira

Sleek and polished, this bob is taking care of business. Start with Aveda Phomollient for body and hold.  Finish with Aveda Defining Whip on the ends. Also finish with a high five because you look awesome.

3. Fancy Model

Start with Aveda Hair Potion and Phomollient for texture and volume. Finish with Aveda Air Control to set your sights high and your hair higher.

4. Scarjo

Start by blowing out your hair with Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother and finish with Aveda Shaping Wax on  your ends to piece it out. Also finish by buying that dress which is totally amazing. Seriously, it has cats on it.

5. Rashida

Start with Aveda Volumizing Tonic to create texture and volume. Finish with  Aveda Defining Whip on ends and a super foxy lipstick like Aveda Lip Color Concentrate in Poppy.

Mad World

The obsession started long ago but came to fruition just this past Thursday at the salon. I've been a redhead most of my life and right now there is no more popular (or lusted after) redhead than Christina Hendricks of Mad Men fame. 

Her red hair is just ridiculous amazing. I said to Corie, is this something we could do? The challenge was set! The task: take Molly from natural/awesome ombre color to the fiery hotness that is Ms. Joan Holloway. I may never have her measurements but god willing I will have that hair!

This is the face Joan would be giving you if you stepped on her toes.

But I'm not Joan I'm Molly and am totally stoked with my new do so a smile is more appropriate.

Gelish!

Yesterday between her very busy schedule, Ann found time to give Cher and I the new gel nail treatment.

Cher did it up right with a charcoal shade.

I warmed it up with this  berry hue. Gel nails are the latest rage and are new to the shop. The manicure is supposed to last anywhere from 3-4 weeks. This being my second time around I'm really happy with the results. I type all day at the salon and craft all weekend from home and it has stayed on through fevered typing fits and hot glue fiasco's. 

Braids

Totally feeling the braids featured in this months Glamour magazine. Chambray shirts dress it down, mega bling dresses it up.

Meet Corie

Corie is our newest addition to Team BC. She is at BC Thursdays and Saturdays while also teaching at the Cinta Aveda Institute in Downtown SF. I did some internet stalking of our new friend and found some fun photo shoots she styled back in the day.
