Nail art has come a long way in the past year. Leaving the era of gaudy acrylics, it has become a high fashion staple. Nails have become an accessories. Instead of piling your wrists with loud bangles you can simply get a gold metallic manicure. Wearing a more neutral palate these days? You can add your punch up your look with a pattern on your paws. While these new fads are still fads, some of them have legitimate staying power. With the new wave of gel manicures hitting the market the need for a weekly manicure become a biweekly affair. We scoured the Internet for the latest craze in nail art looking for manicures that are closer to art than what you would wear for your daily routine.
We want to hear from you. Would you where any of these looks? If so, where and why?
The Peep Toe Mani
A modern twist on a french manicure. Looks clean without being over the top.
Minx Pedicure
These were all over the second Sex and the City movie. What do you think? This service can be quite a process. Is the bling worth it?
Ombre Manicure
Ombre was a huge trend in hair this year. We saw a ton of requests (some of us at the salon even sport the trend) for highlights from the bottom up. How do you think it looks on nails?
Woah.
Crackle Manicure made popular by Katy Perry. Now, call me a purist but this is what I try to avoid my nails looking like. Is this like the ripped jeans trend? Fashionably distressed?
Tie Dye Manicure.
So what do you think? What styles would you try?
This past month Belli Capelli introduced gel manicures to our menu. The result has been fantastic. A manicure that can even stand the test of a day in the life of a stylist. All that washing, cutting, coloring can do a number on your hands.
